Check Your Lights and Optics, August 2017 Edition

| September 7, 2017 | 1 Comments

August’s “Check Your Lights and Optics” results:

Total dead optics found: 0/10

Total dead weapon mounted lights: 0/4

Total dead handheld lights: 1/3

Total dead safe lights: 0/3

Total dead headlamps: 0/2

My Nitecore MT1C was dead at the end of the month. I pocket carry this light, and I use it the most frequently. Last month I wrote about how the Efest 16340 battery was down to 25% despite not using it very much. I know the light isn’t being triggered in my pocket, so that means the battery is discharging a hefty amount and/or isn’t really a 700 mAh battery.

Either way, I need to figure this out — winter and 16+ hours of darkness a day will be here before I know it.

How’d you do this month?

I was really put off of RCR123 batteries after reading this link:

I wish CR123s were cheaper, as I use a lot of 3 cell lights, but the situation is what it is.
