Last month I wrote about how my IKEA “Dioder” motion activated LED light exhausted six AAA batteries. After some Thanksgiving holiday research, I bought some EBL High Capacity 1100mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

At about $0.88 each before tax (Amazon has a business presence here, soooo $$$), they are more expensive than the Costco-brand Kirkland batts they replaced (~$0.31/ea before tax). Based on my calculations of how long the Alkaline batteries last, the rechargeables will pay for themselves in about 11 months.

How’d you do this month?
