Flex Your Guns Photo Contest: Entry #1

| March 27, 2014 | 1 Comments

Our first entry into the Flex Your Guns contest is this .300 Blackout AR15 SBR from nDjinn. 1796096_10152126370604317_472634780_o

Here are the details:

  • GPI Custom gun-works 10.5″ barrel
  • Midwest Industries Gen2 handguard
  • Ultimat Arms muzzle break designed with the additional quality of “Pain Compliance” by being sharp and pointy
  • DS Arms lower
  • National Match Single Stage Trigger
  • Rock River Arms upper
  • Remington Ceramic Plated Bolt Carrier Group
  • Ergo Sure Grip
  • Aim Point Microdot
  • MagPul Gen 2 flipup
  • MagPul UBR
  • MagPul MS3 Sling and QD Swivel

nDjinn wrote that this is his 20th AR build, and it’s a really tight set up.

If you’re curious, that’s a Desert Tracker plater carrier by US Palm.

Stylistically, I like this photo because it shows a complete mindset, from the trauma kit to the flashlight and headgear, to the Ranger Plates on all the different brands and sub-models of AR mags that function in this rifle, to the 300 Blackout bands, and of course it’s all color coordinated.

Most of my stuff is a mish-mash of color and function over form, but I definitely respect someone who put the time and effort in making it all fit together.

Keep Adam’s build in mind when we vote on the top submission on May 29, 2014.

HERE’S WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR:

  • At least one photo of your firearm. Send me photos of short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, point defense weapons, SMGs, AR pistols, or any type of firearm that would fit the theme of this blog.
  • Any details about it that you think other readers would find interesting, such as barrel length, important or unusual components, rarity, etc.
  • One reason you love it or hate it.
  • Email photos of your gun to blasters@shortbarrelshepherd.com

Here are the contest details:

  • Make sure you’re signed up for my email list – and don’t forget to verify your account!!
  • I will choose the firearms to feature each Thursday by myself.
  • You can enter as many times as you want, but once your firearm is featured on a Thursday you can’t submit again for the same contest.
  • Once we hit 10 weeks, the readers (that’s you!) will vote on who wins out of the pre-selected firearms. My own submissions (f any) won’t count.
  • If your photo is chosen by the community you’ll have five business days to email me a picture of the firearm you submitted plus a piece of paper with your email address on it. This is very important to make sure the firearm is actually yours. Our friends in law enforcement may enter their unit’s firearms as long as they can provide the evidence linking their email address to their photo.
  • The contest will end on May 28, 2014.
  • Judging will start on May 29, 2014 and close at 11:59PM CDT June 4, 2014.
  • Winners will get their gift card via email, so make sure you send me your photos from a valid email account that is also on my email list!

As a point, I don’t shoot from the 40 round magazine that’s in my rifle, I just used it for the photo. Generally that goes with my .223 beater AR.
