Just Enough Jitsu with Cecil Burch 2017 3×3 Review

| April 10, 2017 | 0 Comments

Self defense is a multi-discipline, multi-skill endeavor. With so much to learn, and so little time to do so, I really admire and respect blocks like “Just Enough Jitsu” from personal safety coach and Shivworks Cartel member Cecil Burch of Immediate Action Combatives.

Here’s my 3×3 review of Cecil’s 2017 Rangemaster block “Just Enough Jitsu.” I discuss the top three things covered in class, the top three things I’ve learned, and my top three action items.

I first met Cecil at Rangemaster 2015. He is knowledgeable, is approachable, and has a great personality.

Like the rest of us, he has a “day” job that has nothing to do personal safety. And yet, through time, dedication, and determination, he has become an expert on hand to hand fighting and a Jiu-jitsu champion.

His lifelong pursuit of personal safety training while maintaining a desk job is inspirational for “the rest of us.” It was a little daunting to take up Jiu-jitsu in my 40s, but Cecil’s mentoring has gone a long way.

I hope Cecil and his material inspires someone to take up Jiu-jitsu, just like he inspired me.
