Check Your Lights and Optics, July 2017 Edition

| August 3, 2017 | 1 Comments

July’s “Check Your Lights and Optics” results:

Total dead optics found: 1/10

Total dead weapon mounted lights: 0/4

Total dead handheld lights: 0/3

Total dead safe lights: 0/3

Total dead headlamps: 0/2

Well, I jinxed myself. Last month I wrote about how well the RMRs were doing, and I posted an image my trusty RMR RM07 on my Glock 19.

The optic died shortly after posting about the Lone Wolf Timberwolf frame.

Everything else went OK this month.

According to my Nitecore battery charger, my rechargeable CR123 batteries are at about 25% capacity at the end of each month. I don’t feel like I use my Nitecore MT1C enough that it’s draining the battery that much. I wonder if the batteries are lower capacity than stated, or if the MT1C has been leeching juice and it’s easier to detect thanks to the readout on the charger, or something else.

Regardless, I am glad that I have a standing procedure of rotating all of my rechargeable batteries every month.

How’d you do this month?
