Check Yourself: December 2014 Edition
At the end of every month I check the optics on my firearms. Last month I started checking my weapon-mounted lights as well — and found that one was dead. Derp!
This month I’ve added my handheld flashlights to my routine.
I encourage you to go check every optic and light in your house, especially on anything you’re carrying on a regular basis.
Total dead optics found: 0/11*
I’m going to Barry Bonds this one because I left an optic on at full brightness after our partner winter shoot.
Total dead weapon mounted lights: 0/4
Total dead handheld lights found: 0/5
Not bad — how’d you do?

Thanks, good reminder, I also preemptively change batts on my stuffs on my birthday (easy day to remember).Aim point, rmr’s, lights, etc.
Do you follow a similar idea? or do something different?
I will replace the RMR batteries and the 300 Blackout battery on my birthday. The others get checked monthly and when I handle them.
